PRIVACY POLICY
Updated January 2025
SirenGPS knows that you care how your information is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will act carefully and sensibly to safeguard sensitive information. This notice describes our privacy policy. By visiting SirenGPS, or using one of our mobile or portal tools, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information that we obtain from customers is used directly related to the services we provide and to help us personalize and continually improve your experience at SirenGPS. Some of the information we obtain may be provided directly by you or collected from your device while using one of our services. Some of that information may include personal information. Personal information (PII) is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, e-mail address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise available to the public.
The following describe several circumstances where we may gather personal or other information:
We may receive and store any information you enter on our website, submit to us on one of our applications, that is entered into one of our applications on your behalf by a third party, or by collecting information from your mobile device. We use this information to support your communications with public safety, third party communications, and for such purposes as responding to your requests, improving our services and/or website, and communicating with you. Information submitted in one of our applications may be used for third party communications, or other appropriate purpose that you authorize. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features.
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, we, or agents we employ may use cookies, and they may obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses SirenGPS. Several companies offer utilities designed to help you visit websites anonymously. Examples of automatic information we might collect and analyze include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; use history; the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our website, including the date and time; and cookie number. Our mobile application may collect personal and sensitive user data that includes, but isn't limited to, personally identifiable information, authentication information, device location, SMS and call related data, and other sensitive device or usage data. Please know that although we may not be able to provide you with the same personalized experience, we want you to be aware that these tools exist.
Third Party Communication: Several SirenGPS assets are designed to allow third party entities to initiate and manage communications with individuals associated with them. These communications are managed on our service through client "communities". Community administrators for these third party entities may send alerts or other communications using your email, phone number, or other means. SirenGPS makes every effort to provide assurance of the source of communication that is sent using any of our services. If you receive communication that you believe comes from a SirenGPS asset that does not identify the source, please let us know by sending an email to customersupport@sirengps.com.
Your E-mail: To help us make e-mails more useful and interesting, we may receive a confirmation when you open e-mail from SirenGPS if your computer supports such capabilities. We may compare our customer lists to lists received from other companies in an effort to avoid sending unnecessary messages. You can control the e-mail you receive. We will endeavor not to send you an e-mail unless you have authorized it. Any unsolicited e-mail we send will prominently display instructions to remove yourself from the e-mail list.
Telephone Numbers: Some SirenGPS assets include communication features that enable third parties to send alerts or other communication via automated voice and/or SMS text. While telephone numbers are not typically considered personally identifiable information, we will treat any phone numbers as such. If your phone number is entered into our service either by you, or on your behalf, it may be used to send third party communications by one of our clients. We will always take reasonable precautions to safeguard your phone number and we will not sell or rent your phone number to any third parties. You may opt out of receiving communication over your phone number by sending an appropriate response, contacting any third party that uses your number to communicate with you, or by emailing us at unsubscribe@sirengps.com.
Information Collected by SirenGPS Mobile Apps:
SirenGPS maintains several cloud-based services, some of which operate with an integrated mobile application available for Android and Apple devices. This section explains what information may be collected by our mobile assets and what we do with that information.
Location: SirenGPS mobile apps include tools for placing 911 calls, communicating with public safety, and related purposes. Where appropriate, SirenGPS mobile apps may collect device location information to be used to support emergency communication. Location information collected from your device will only be used to support app functionality, will be encrypted when at rest or in transit, and is not shared with any third party that is not part of a community that you choose to associate with by selecting that community on the app.
Personal Profile Information, Address, Medical Conditions, etc.: SirenGPS web and mobile assets enable users to create a profile with information they would like shared with first responders in an emergency. The information you put in your profile is only shared with first responder agencies that you select on the service. Your address may also be used to enable public safety notifications distributed based on location. Information you put in your profile will only be used to support app functionality, will be encrypted when at rest or in transit, and is not shared with any third party other than the entities you select on the service.
Device Information: SirenGPS mobile apps may collect device information from your device operating system. If device information is collected, our use of that data is limited to tracking application errors by device type and/or operating system to help us make sure our apps work on most devices. We do not link device identifiers with any personal or sensitive user data or resettable device identifiers, and we keep device information encrypted when at rest or in transit.
SirenGPS does not sell any user information and will only retain or share such information with your permission as necessary to support appropriate functionality, or as required by a legal order from a court of competent jurisdiction. If you have any questions, or would like to have any information removed from any SirenGPS service, please email customersupport@sirengps.com
Data Retention and Deletion Policy
SirenGPS maintains all sensitive or personal information collected from mobile or web assets in encrypted form when that information is at rest or in transit. Transient information and personal information from expired or cancelled accounts is typically deleted after 30 days. SirenGPS may retain information required in our operations for indefinite periods of time and/or for as long as the data serves an appropriate purpose. If you would like to have your personal information removed, or if you have any questions, please email us at customersupport@sirengps.com.
Cookies
We or our vendors may use Cookies related to our public web pages. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that are transferred to your device through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide special features. The "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Cookies, however, allow you to take full advantage of some of SirenGPS' features, and we recommend that you leave them turned on.
Sharing and Handling Information
SirenGPS does not share, rent or sell your personal information to nonaffiliated persons, entities or non-associated third parties. SirenGPS will, from time to time, exchange, release, or notify affiliated or associated third parties of certain information about you as required in the course of business. We will release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with applicable laws, to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions of Use and other agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SirenGPS, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with public safety or other companies to prevent harm to person, property, and/or to mitigate fraud and credit risk reduction.
SirenGPS is committed to handle all personal or sensitive user data securely, including storing and transmitting sensitive data using modern cryptography (for example, transmission over HTTPS). We use runtime permissions that request confirmation whenever available prior to accessing data gated by device permissions.
We sometimes employ other companies, businesses, and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples may include certain customer support functions, the collection of information, the use of cookies, sending postal mail and e-mail, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, and performing off-site Information Technology servicing. When we work with third parties, their access to personal information is limited to what they need to perform their functions, but may not be used for other purposes.
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy assets from others. In such transactions, customer information is generally one of the transferred business assets. In the event that SirenGPS is sold, or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will be one of the transferred assets. We work closely with partners to which we provide information. We may, from time to time, share customer information related to your use of SirenGPS and pass that information on to our associated companies.
Information Security
SirenGPS makes every effort to limit the collection of personal information and to safeguard the information we need to collect. We restrict our collection of personal information to the information necessary to meet appropriate business and regulatory obligations. Access to personal information is limited to employees and partners who we believe reasonably need to access that information to provide services to you or to do their jobs. We review our physical, electronic and procedural safeguards at least annually to be sure that these meet or exceed the requirements of local, state, federal and international regulations that protect personal information.
We will not share your personal information with third parties except as required by law, in the interest of public safety, or for appropriate business purpose with your express authorization, which may be expressed through your participation in a community within a SirenGPS service. You may withdraw such authorization by withdrawing from such third-party community on an appropriate SirenGPS service, by expressing your intentions directly to such third party, or by emailing us at unsubscribe@sirengps.com.
Changes To This Privacy Statement
SirenGPS may update this policy without notice. Users are responsible for reviewing this policy each time they enter this site or otherwise access SirenGPS mobile or other assets.
